For the premier Molten Arts jewelry class we have asked Ronda Coryell to spend a week teaching a few classes both on and offline. Ronda is a unique metal artist, as anyone who has ever met her immediately recognizes. She is among a select group of Master Bench Jewelers to be certified by Jewelers of America.
Ronda has taught worldwide, leading classes on
Fabrication, Granulation, Argentium and other jewelry arts in England, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, and Bali. Her exceptional metal work has earned her First Place in the Saul Bell Awards among various competitions and exhibitions.
With a twinkle in her eye, Ronda is able to impart her vast
knowledge to her students.
Artist Statement
As far back as I can remember, I have made things with my
hands. I explored clay, wood, fiber, and glass before finding
that some sort of metal flows through my veins. I can’t explain
it, but working in metal, preferably precious metal, just opens
me up to unlimited creativity.
Teaching has become as important to me as making. In fact
you could say teaching is another expression of my creativity.
Through teaching, I am continually challenged by the
questions of "Why" and "How"; regarding materials and processes. Encouraging students to experiment beyond known limits makes it exciting and keeps me continually
learning.

Argentium® Sterling Silver
Argentium® Sterling Silver is a relatively new silver alloy that offers many appealing features for jewelry makers. It is truly a metal for the third millennium. It is similar to standard Sterling, but because of a small addition of the element Germanium, Argentium® is definitely different. It will not tarnish but accepts a dark patina. It is fusible, making solder almost unnecessary.
Understanding these differences and the characteristics of Argentium® and imparting this to my students is my focus.

With room for 5 students, the workshop is designed for a private experience that curates to each person's needs.

The small capacity of the class allows the instructor to work with each student, individually, to help achieve their goals from the workshop. Join us in the studio for a focused masterclass, curated to the student experience!

Join master glass blower and RMA Studios co-founder, Dustin Revere for an On-Site Class that brings together the worlds of glass and metal.
